A Big Thank you to our 2017 Summer PCM Team!

Prayer Warrior Team

We believe in the power of prayer! So, in addition to each staff member having their own personal prayer team, there are a group of dedicated men and women who pray for this ministry on a regular basis. This group of over a hundred people is scattered across the United States. They pray for the staff and Board of Directors by name. They pray for our upcoming events. They pray for the women and young ladies who will come in contact with this ministry…that they will see the Light of Jesus and be affected for His glory. They pray for wisdom and guidance as we make decisions and follow God’s leading. They pray for you! These men and women come from all over…from Arkansas to Pennsylvania to Colorado and Washington to South Carolina and Florida! They are lifting us up and praying protection and provision over Polished Cornerstones Ministry. We thank them for their willingness to serve through prayer. If you’re interested in joining our prayer warrior team, sign up for our updates HERE.

Short-Term Staff

Our short-term staff help with our Retreats and events. They are chosen yearly by the Board of Directors after an application and interview process. These girls and women are a huge blessing and we are grateful for their servant’s hearts! If you are interested in volunteering to help at one of our events or conferences, please contact us for an application!

In 2015, PCM saw the need for ground-work help from the people we are ministering to. Ambassadors are young women who are 14 years and older, and volunteer to promote our events in their local areas…schools, churches, neighborhoods, youth groups, drama and 4H clubs…or anywhere else they want to spread the word. They take our ministry to their spheres of influence and tell others about PCM. They are the backbone to getting the word out and inviting women and gals to our events. Their personal testimonies go far to reach others with the message of truth. These ladies are a huge help to us! If you are interested in spreading the work about PCM to your church, neighborhood, and/or school, please contact us for promotional materials!

Starting in 2016, PCM started a new type of one-on-one mentorship program. Our apprentices are chosen by recommendation and must be 15 years or older. They must be alumni of our Retreats and go through an interview and application process. They are paired one-on-one with a core staff member to assist in the planning and work of Polished Cornerstones through the busiest time of our year. This Apprenticeship program is a four-month commitment, from May through August. They travel with our team (during our events) and work hard along side our staff to make the PCM events unforgettable and life-changing for the girls we minister to. They do everything from helping plan, prepare, and set-up to hands-on help throughout our Retreats (shadowing their mentor in her responsibilities), and afterward assisting in follow up. PCM is big into mentorship and encouraging the next generation to walk in truth. This new program allows us the opportunity to disciple younger girls in their walk with the Lord and also give them a chance to put their faith into action through serving others. These girls are a huge blessing to us as they lift up our hands and who knows…maybe one day you’ll see them as a core staff member!

Faith Walker

Faith Walker

Staff Director

Faith Walker is the oldest of nine siblings. She serves her family from her happy home in a small Southern Michigan town. Faith has a deep desire to share God's Word, especially with young women from all walks of life. When she's not helping her Dad with a ministry project or her mother in the laundry room, she can be found teaching piano, volunteering for community service events, organizing Bible studies, tutoring a child in math or reading, or enjoying the perks of being an aunt! Her favorite passage of Scripture is Ephesians 3:20, ``Now unto Him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh within us...`` She has a unique gift of seeing the extraordinary in the ordinary things of a good cup of coffee, running barefoot in the grass, and holding babies!

Conference Director

Just a note about me: I was born and raised in church and grew up in a Christian home. At a young age, I made a profession of faith and lived the “Christian life.” I went to church, did what I was supposed to, and just got by. It wasn’t until my senior year of high school that Christ really got a hold of me. I learned that I couldn’t just get by, but that I actually had to live for Christ. “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 This verse always challenges me to do more. I know that I am not perfect by a long shot, but I really do want to make a difference with what time I have here on earth.
I love talking with other girls and seeing this same passion in them. My heart beats for girls that have been raised in a Christian home and “know” the right things to say and do. I want to be an encouragement to them by my life and testimony that we can use our background and knowledge and really make a difference for Christ and not just play the game. I love having heart-to-hearts with other girls and hearing them talk about their struggles and triumphs and how they let God use them every day. We were all given different talents and I enjoy seeing how God uses each and every one of us. My goal is that those who come in contact with me will see that I am a new creation and I have been changed by the living God!

Hannah Scully

Hannah Scully

Music Leader

My name is Hannah Scully. First a little bit about me. I come from a family of 10. There are eight boys and two girls. There is always something going on in my family and I really like that. One of the ways that I like to spend my free time is playing sports. Whether it be baseball, a pick up game of soccer, or football, I really like just getting out there and playing with my family or friends.

I am so excited to have the opportunity to help in this ministry. I think the thing that I love most about this conference is that the people there encourage each other and the messages convict and encourage you. The messages stir up a desire in you to serve Christ like you never did before. This conference puts wood on your fire for Christ and really encourages you to keep serving our God.

My favorite passage of Scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6, ``Trust in The Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.``

Hello girls!
So here's a little bit about me. I'm the ninth born of ten children. Having three brothers and six sisters is like having lots of best friends. There's always someone to do something with you! I'm truly very blessed. I'm an aunt to three awesome nephews, one adorable niece, and another niece or nephew on the way!
I live in North Eastern Indiana on our family farm. As a farmer's daughter my jobs change daily. I really enjoy spending time in the house baking and cooking. I love trying new things...especially desserts. If they're sweet enough they'll always get eaten even if they really don't turn out! Lol.
Currently I'm mentoring young girls during the school year through GEMS Girl's Club. This is such a joy to me. I love spending time with girls and seeing their precious hears grow as they learn about Jesus. This summer I also have the opportunity to lead a Bible study for a few girls in my area. I also spend a lot of my time babysitting, which I really enjoy!
God has given me a heart to minister to children and teens and has opened many doors in my life to make this possible. I am so grateful to my Lord Jesus Christ for all He is doing and will do! My desire is to encourage others and pass on the beautiful truth of God's Word. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life! (John 14:6)
My favorite book of the BIble is Romans and my favorite verse right now is Psalm 121:8.
Things I enjoy: listening to music, playing the paino, volleyall, soccer with my nephews, reading books, taking a walk and spending time with my family and friends...and anything coffee---hot or cold!
God bless you and I hope to see you at a PCM event!

Elizabeth Schaffter

Elizabeth Schaffter

Registration/Small-group Coordinator

This is my first year on staff with Polished Cornerstones Ministry, and I'm am ecstatic to see how the Lord uses our team to bring glory to His name!

I am 24 and have lived in Indiana for most of my life. I blessed to be an international traveler with missions organizations (on my own). The Lord currently has me in a ``bloom where you are planted`` season. It's hard when you're a traveler! My desire in life is to be an overflowing vat of Christ's love to my neighbors and the world!

My favorite verses as of now are:
Daniel 2:20-23
20``Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
23 I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king's matter.

The Lord bless you and I hope to meet you at a conference!

 MaryEllen Walter

MaryEllen Walter

Prayer Leader

I am the 8th born of 10 children and I have to say being raised in a large Christian family has been one of my biggest blessings! I never lack for someone to talk, play, work or even cry with:) There is always someone with an open ear listen to what is going on in my life.

Just a bit about myself. I have grown up my whole life on our family farm in Northern Indiana. Over the course of the last 5 or 6 years the Lord has opened many doors for me to serve in my community, with each opportunity looking different. Some things have been...Driving a neighbor who is ill to her Dr. appointments 2-5 times each week, caregiving for some elderly people, helping with painting projects, cleaning houses, or doing photography for someone. I don’t really have a work schedule, although somehow my schedule always gets full! But never too full for talking with a friend or someone who just needs to share what is on their heart.

Some things I love... I love being with give me so much energy! I love to sing with my family and friends. Volleyball is my favorite sport, I am not a very good player but who says you have to be good to enjoy it? I love being in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes. I also love it when my nephews are over and they help me make cookies or wash the dishes. They are such a treasure to this aunt!!!

How am I involved in PCM? I am the Prayer Leader! I have had the joy of being on the staff team the past three years. What do I enjoy most about my involvement with PCM? I love everything about it!!!!! The fellowship with other Christ-minded ladies, traveling with the team has made for many fun memories! And meeting many young women who are so eager to hear and learn more about Jesus. The best part about serving with PCM is how the Lord has worked in my life on a personal level. He has challenged me to rely fully on Him and walk in faith, believing that He is in control and He will give me His grace and wisdom as I lean upon Him for my strength. The Lord our God is so FAITHFUL!

My favorite Bible Verse is Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.’’

Holly Loader

Holly Loader

The Book Lady

Hi everyone! I'm Holly Loader

I am a Hillsdale county native! I grew up in Jonesville and am now a happy Hillsdale Hornet!

I was raised in a Christian home, so Jesus has always been a familiar name to me. My parents Jerry and Ginger Gilmore continue to be wonderful guides to me in my spiritual journey. I am blessed to have been raised up in a home that put a very high value on a relationship with the Lord!

Currently, I am a Kindergarten-First Grade looping teacher. For the previous 19 years, I taught in a Special Education capacity. I love teaching and working with children. It is my passion!

I am also a wife to David and a mother to Carson (11) and a proud owner of our family pet, Brinkley, a Golden Retriever. When I am not teaching, I am usually watching my boy play football or baseball. In 2014, Carson received his black belt in Tae Kwon Do, so that was a big undertaking in our lives as well.

Our family attends Cambria Baptist Church where I teach a women's Sunday School class. Carson has also been active in the AWANA programs at the Hillsdale United Brethren Church.

My husband Dave and I also coach a 12U Pee Wee Reese baseball team for the City of Hillsdale Recreation Department each summer. We both love to find ways to work in our community and share the light of Jesus with others (especially kiddos).

In my spare time, I love love love to read! So, I have enjoyed working in the ministry to connect women to authors and books. I can hardly wait to meet all of you and talk about some good books!
